Trees in Relation to Planning
Trees are important to our natural world and in planning everything from the National Planning Policy framework to local parish councils have policies, guidelines, and requirements that need to be met for a planning application to be successful. Here at TTC we are able to guide our clients to obtain planning consent in a world of ever tightening environmental restrictions.
Health and Safety
Property owners have a legal duty of care to make sure their trees do not cause harm to neighbours or the public. They should get regular assessments to make sure they are in a safe condition. TTC can help you with this.
With many years experience conducting many types of safety assessments we can explore options to meet your duty of care whilst not breaking the bank.
CAVAT – Capital Asset Value for Amenity Trees
CAVAT is a calculation of a tree’s value into a monetary number. This is becoming a common way for local authorities to gain compensation for the loss of their trees or to ensure that there is ample planting on site. Local authorities such as Hampshire County Council, Ealing Borough Council, and the Greater London Authority all require CAVAT assessments to be undertaken. We have been working with CAVAT since 2014 and are able to calculate it in a variety of ways from detailed single tree assessments to a large-scale project.
Why choose us
Rob, our founder and senior consultant, has been working in the arboricultural industry since 2007 within a variety of roles, gaining a wide knowledge base and experience of trees, as well as a great understanding of the balance to be struck between nature and people.
Seven years working for local authorities caring for their tree stocks and obtaining the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector certificate has given him a wide range of experiences assessing trees from a detailed single tree assessment to managing 500,000 trees on a tight budget.
Rob has been in private practice since 2016 and has continued to widen his knowledge and experience, including trees in relation to planning. Having worked for a number of practices has allowed him to work on a wide variety of different types of projects, including everything from a single-story side extension to some of the biggest developments in the country.
Rob knows that providing an open and honest service to your clients whilst harnessing a wide knowledge base results in satisfied clients and healthy trees.
